Job Description
In particular these work
areas include:
* Green Spaces and public realms at all scales (ie. from green infrastructure planning through
masterplanning to the design and implementation of contemporary parks and urban open spaces.
* Leisure and other landscape led projects where environmental design and genuine sustainable
landscape development and conservation are key objectives.
* Masterplanning, conservation, design and implementation of historic landscapes including urban
parks and gardens and other HLF or public funded projects.
* Landscape planning and design associated with private sector led major settlement expansion,
commercial developments and new sustainable communities and infrastructure, including in
particular landscape and visual impact assessment.
Key objectives for this role include:
* To work closely with Associates/Senior Associates in the delivery of design and planning
projects.
* Manage and produce high quality technical landscape work within agreed, set time
allocations and budgets.
Critical Attributes
* Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.
* High quality design and drawing capabilities both by hand and by computer.
* High quality report writing capabilities.
* Good awareness of consultancy/commercial working environments.
* In depth experience in landscape project design and delivery.
* Proven experience in client management and flexibility/creativity to meet client
requirements.
* Proven ability to work independently and to participate in and contribute to design and
multi-disciplinary teams.
* Full IT capability and a strong aptitude in the use of state of the art programmes such as
Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD 2007.
Desirable Attributes
* Full LI Chartered status.
* Experience in preparing HLF funding applications for conservation management plans
and landscape restoration projects.
* Experience in the masterplanning and design of high profile public realm or other
projects.
* Additional related professional qualifications such as masterplanning, urban design,
landscape management, architecture or regeneration skills.
* Sound ability to make persuasive verbal presentations.
* Experience in project and infrastructure environmental assessment with an emphasis on
landscape and visual analysis, heritage protection and nature conservation.
