Job Description
Our Client is a well recognised consultantcy operating in the Uk's South West. They are currently seeking a Hydrologist to join their Bristol team.
Responsibilities:
-Manage and undertake hydrological studies and hydraulic modeling projects as well as provide day-to-day advice and support within a hydrological team.
-Hydrological and river modelling with use of specialist software
-Flood risk assessments
-Design of sustainable drainage systems (SUDS)
-Site surveys and assessments of water courses/drainage/flood defence
-Providing strategic flood advice to clients
-Desk studies
-Onsite investigations
-Technical report writing
Experience:
Must be degree educated with an MSc preferable and ideally chartered. Experience in preparing flood risk assessments for a range of developments is also an advantage.
Drainage assessments and design (MicroDrainage, PDS modelling software and
WinDES software), an understanding of SUDS would be beneficial
Knowledge of hydraulic modelling (ISIS, Tuflow, HEC-RAS MIKE 11, MIKE 21)
Consultancy experience in a flood risk role
Preparation of proposals
Good report writing and communication skills
Consultation, liaison and negotiation with the regulators
