Job Description

An Estimator is required for a major rail company heading up the Thameslink project. As Rail Estimator you will prepare estimates and cost plans throughout the development stages of a projects lifecycle for use by the project team to authorise and cost manage the project. Estimates are produced to deliver the best-cost solution for each project bearing in mind all constraints

A Cost Planner / Estimator or Quantity Surveyor is required to focus on the preparation and delivery of estimates and cost plans for Electrification and Plant projects. It is essential that the individual have a diverse and varied background in electrification work. Good knowledge of the railway industry advantageous, but not essential. Knowledge of other railway assets such as civil engineering, signalling or telecoms is advantageous but similarly not essential. The individual must have a good cost knowledge to enable us to benchmark projects and look to achieve efficiencies in our portfolio of projects. This post requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills and good commercial acumen.

To undertake estimates pre- and post-contract in support of the Business Plan and programme teams
