Job Description

Our client is a privately owned real estate development firm that is part of one of the leading business groups in the United Arab Emirates. We are seeking applications for the position of Design Manager / Client Representative to work on a US $5 billion mixed-use waterfront development consisting of high end residential apartments and villas, boutique hotels, commercial towers, flagship retail outlets, malls and a championship golf course. Construction of the 1,600 acre city within a city has already begun and projects range from a landmark 2 million square foot urban retail resort to a stunning 375 room waterside hotel that will include ultra-exclusive residential apartments. Reporting to the General Manager of Design, your role will be to effectively manage the design process and design consultants from the clients perspective.Key duties include: Prequalification of design consultants; Definition of design scope, deliverables and design costs; Coordination with designers communicating the clients requirements; Review of design packages; Identification of cost/time/quality implication of any design change and recommendation thereof; Team management. You will be a team manager capable of representing the firm at such a senior level. The ideal candidate will be a chartered architect with proven hands on experience in design and construction. You will be familiar with design standards, building codes and local practices. Knowledge of MS Project is preferable.
