Job Description

Job Specification:
Part of a team involved in establishing bus priority at the heart of meeting London's future transport demands by:

*Introducing traffic & highway measures which reduce avoidable delay & maintain reliability for buses
*Reducing adverse impacts on bus operations and on bus passengers from other non-bus priority projects
*Monitoring progress and facilitating wherever possible to ensure the efficient and timely implementation of the bus priority programme.
*Effectively co-ordinating and managing the delivery of the schemes for which they have direct responsibility.
*Responding to requests by London Buses / Stakeholders to liaise with the highway authorities when required, seeking to achieve favourable outcomes for bus operations.
*The post holder is responsible for effectively co-ordinating and managing the delivery of the schemes for which they have direct responsibility.

The Senior Engineer needs to
*Act as a champion the interests of bus operations and bus passengers by ensuring others' proposals adequately support bus operations and passengers needs; ensuring compliance with objectives of bus policies within Mayor's Transport Strategy; negotiating and influencing sponsors of proposals, using legislation tools where appropriate; prioritising his/her work load within available resources, including procurement of consultants services, where required.
*Fully understand Key stakeholder requirements.
*Act in the role of programme sponsor and senior user (depending on the size of the programme), achieving best value for money outputs within available resources; delivering against KPI targets; maximising investment by reducing/mitigating delivery risks; facilitating delivery processes via stakeholder and resource management ; following funding criteria and meeting business objectives; and reporting results periodically.
