Job Description

Rail Cost Engineer for the West Coast Route Modernisation programme based in Milton Keynes, as Cost Engineer you will responsible for working with the sub programmes to co-ordinate the cost and budget reporting process, whilst supporting the Senior Cost Analyst.

A typical description would be preparing information required for programme-wide reporting each period including Project Control Management System (PMCS), the Executive Report Area Review Package and other Programme Controls reports. Liaising with the Change Control Analyst and Financial Authority Group and facilitate all approved budget and authority changes are entered into PMCS and that it reflects the most up-to-date information, addressed in the BMR and Authority Report. Coordinating the consolidation of PMCS information from the Project organisations. Validate the information input into PMCS is consistent with the Budget Management and Authority Reports. Summarise historical costs and forecast of future costs from the Cost Monitoring System (PMCS) and information gathered from the sub-Programme organisations.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

•Educated to degree level standard
•Substantive project controls experience
•Experience with centralised project cost control and planning software
•Computer literate especially database software as Microsoft Access
•Strong communicator
•Knowledge of PMCS software would be an advantage.
