Job Purpose

To ensure a high quality of work in development planning/control e.g. TA, traffic and economic appraisal of schemes, transport modelling e.g. TRANSYT, and contributing to bids.

Responsibilities:

·Ensuring that project work undertaken or managed is to the quality, time scale and costs expected by the client.
·Assisting in proposal writing of transport planning work in the UK and elsewhere as required.
·Assisting in communications, financial, junior staff training and marketing matters as required.
·Instructing graduates on transport planning work.
·Identifying training needs of oneself as part of MP's PPA/PPD.
·Applying MP's QA system to all appropriate projects.

Person Specification

·Preferably a chartered member of an appropriate professional body e.g. MCILT.
·Must hold a degree and / or post-graduate degree in a numerical subject relating to transport planning/ traffic engineering or equivalent.
·Should be aware of the issues influencing the transport planning market in the UK and be able to prepare winning bids.
·Should have the technical depth and breadth of experience in transport planning field in the public/private sectors.
·Should be able to manage projects and ensure that the quality, time scale and costs are as expected.
·It would also be useful if you have a full driving licence.
