Job Description

We are seeking 2 Structural Design Engineers to oversee design issues on a education and social housing projects in Central and North London . The right candidates must have good knowledge and understanding of concrete/steel/reinforcement design and drawings, be able to effectively liaise with external design consultants and internal departments to assess feasibility, buildablility of the design and have the ability to highlight, raise and suggest solutions to design issues.
The Main duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage the design consultants, ensuring effective and efficient production of design drawings within set timescales
- Reviews design and verifies that the design documents are in compliance with the Client’s requirements
- Reviews Sub Contractors working design drawings
- Manages in-house working design
- Liaises with Consultants to obtain approval for Sub Contractors and in-house working drawings
- Maintain and update professional knowledge as necessary
- Attend and make presentations to Clients on designs by the Consultants as required
- Work as a member of the design team, attending meetings with the production staff and sub-contractors as required
