Due to a buoyant workload the Bridges and Civil Structures Team require a number of new staff, increasing its current 30 strong team. The Team are currently working in the Highway and Rail sectors, embracing the UK Strategy to grow its capability within this office.
Ensuring Technical Quality of UK and international projects including the conceptual design, detailed design, and design development of civil structures, new bridges and the refurbishment of existing structures, in the Rail and Highway sectors. Responsible as design team leader/Project manager within the team, providing support to the Function Group Manager in the overall management, and marketing of the team. Identifying work opportunities and developing Client relations. Financial responsibility and programme of projects. Overall responsibility for the Technical Quality of projects includes, Technical Review, Process, Technical risk management, and mentoring staff in all aspects of analysis and design development.
Experience
Recognised qualification in project management
Chartered Status of ICE or IStructE or equivalent.
The successful applicant would be a Chartered Engineer with experience in the design of stations, bridges and/or civil structure works, leading design teams and interfacing with other disciplines, preparing tender documentation, and an ability to communicate at all levels with Clients on Technical issues. It would also be desirable that the candidate has experience of working with overseas clients and a willingness to travel as part of project work.
