Job Description

My client is one of the leading support services groups in the UK and Eire, serving clients in the utility sectors - gas, water, electricity and telecommunications. As a plc with an annual turnover of £700 million, they currently employ over 7500 employees in a huge range of roles.

They are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to be based out of their regional office in Esher. It is from this office that they exclusively deal with the Thames Water Framework Agreement. This partnering relationship commenced in 1994, has evolved continuously since then. It is a ten year agreement with Thames Water that involves installing sewage pipelines across the whole of the South London region.

Currently in year three of it's first five year period, this project is currently at it's busiest peak, hence why the vacancy has arisen.

The Quantity Surveyor will be expected to:

·Control the cash flow on a contract, managing costs and maximising revenue
·Develop valuation schedule with client & Set up cost codes for each package of work
·Produce cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes in an appropriate format and at an appropriate time.
·Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts e.g. interim applications for payment, payments for late monies etc. Liaise where necessary with the relevant client and company staff.
·Prepare an accurate and realistic contract forecast for all new contracts for the company & finalise account on contract making final application for payment.
·Produce monthly cost reports for the Commercial Manager e.g. cost and value comparisons, turnover forecasts.
·Review cost information provided by Cost Managers and Cost Clerks, and liaise with them to resolve any issues.
