Our client is the largest engineering consultancy in the UK, the largest multidisciplinary consultancy in Europe and the world’s fifth largest design firm. They are looking to recruit a Senior Bridge Engineer for their highways and transportation division in the North West.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional to lead a team of bridge engineers and technicians. The role will be demanding, challenging and rewarding. With broad engineering skills, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and the ability to win new work. Working directly with the Business Manager and other members of the senior management team, the opportunities for future team and personal development are significant.
The clients are diverse and include the Highways Agency, North Wales Trunk Road Authority, English Partnerships, Local Authorities, Contractors and other private sector clients. In addition to existing public sector consultancy frameworks, they are also in advanced negotiations for a select number of UK located D&B contracts.
This opportunity would appeal to an experienced professional who wants a new challenge to broaden and develop their skills in a premier civil engineering consultancy.
Requirements
Essential
• Chartered Civil Engineer.
• Significant (post chartered) bridge engineering experience with public and private sector clients.
• Proven team leadership and project management skills.
• Sound commercial awareness.
• Client management skills.
Desirable
• Well connected and respected within regional engineering business community.
• Broad experience tendering, designing and supervising UK based bridge engineering projects with a proven track record of success.
• Experience in Highways Agency procedures including public consultation and exhibitions.
• Ability to manage and challenge high profile tender submissions.
Responsibilities
• Reporting to our Business Manager you will lead and manage a design team (varies dependant on projects, assume approx 5-10 employees).
• Provide technical support and promote technical excellence.
• Ensure delivery of project portfolio.
• Uphold Health & Safety standards.
• Lead the development of staff and take an active part in recruitment.
• Play a key role winning new work and assist in our Client Management programme.
