Job Description

Playing a key role in a £230m development at Felixstowe - the largest container port in the country - your status as a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent experience) and skills as a Design Manager will ideally have been tested on £30-40m value projects in the marine industry. Key areas of necessary expertise will include concreting, marine works, piling and drainage.

Key Responsibilities

 Ongoing Design Management: setting up information control systems and ensuring information is received to scheduled dates, is practical for construction purposes and satisfies contractual obligations

 A thorough understanding of the development process from inception to completion and, in particular, the management of risks associated with this D&B opportunity

 Management of consultants and design subcontractors

 Monitoring of the design output to ensure that it complies with the requirements of the construction programme

 Monitoring of consultant resources, ensuring adequate provision

 Reviewing the design through VFM workshops to optimize design economy

 Monitoring approval processes to ensure that they comply with the programme
