The UK's leading privately owned property consultancy is recruiting for an extremely exciting position in its planning department. The Planning Department represents the largest department in the business both in terms of personnel and turnover. The success of the planning department is integral to the success of the business. The planning department is concentrated in London, Manchester, Bath and Glasgow with services operated from Southampton (south coast), Sunderland (north east). In total they employ 60 people in Planning, 30 of which operate from London. There are 8 Directors in London, and this includes the National Head of Planning. The department also has 5 Associates and a range of Senior Planners, Planning Assistants and support services. This consultancy has a fantastic pedigree in the Planning world, previously being lead advisor on Heathrow Terminal 5, for instance, as well as many other major schemes.

They are seeking an additional director who will perform the function of head of planning for the London Office. You should be ambitious, client facing and confident. You must have a background in the private sector, however you do not need experience in leading a department.

This consultancy are a limited company where the majority of the shares are owned by people within the business and as consequence, they make business decisions that reflect the company's interests, rather than those of external investors. They are also keen to ensure that those people making a contribution to the business are able to take a share in the business and following a re- structuring of the share holding, there are no Directors who have undue influence due to there shareholding. They see this as critical to bringing through key people in their business and allowing them to benefit from shareholding. As head of planning for the London office you would of course be given shares.
