Job Description
Are you looking for a position within a consultancy where your career development is unlimited?
The UK's leading privately owned property consultancy is recruiting for an extremely exciting position in its planning department. The Planning Department represents the largest department in the business both in terms of personnel and turnover. The success of the planning department is integral to the success of the business. The planning department is concentrated in London, Manchester, Bath and Glasgow with services operated from Southampton (south coast), Sunderland (north east). In total they employ 60 people in Planning, 30 of which operate from London. There are 8 Directors in London, and this includes the National Head of Planning. The department also has 5 Associates and a range of Senior Planners, Planning Assistants and support services. This consultancy has a fantastic pedigree in the Planning world, previously being lead advisor on Heathrow Terminal 5, for instance, as well as many other major schemes.
There is a strong dynamism in the department to create the right framework for growing turnover (and profit) and recruiting the best people in the market in order to achieve these aims. The department is structured into a series of business units: Strategic, Retail and Commercial, Development and CPO, Environmental and Residential/Research. There is the prospect of significant growth within each of these business units and as they become more successful, new business units will be created. The preference is for a flatter management and work structure, rather than an overly hierarchical approach.
As part of their strategy for growth and succession this consultancy is looking to recruit an associate who is able to take forward the business. The individuals should be client facing, committed and enthusiastic and share the following principles: work hard, seek out and follow opportunities, take initiative and focus on client expectations. Their ethos is about a focus on clients with the expectation that they will give repeat business and will build relationships.
This consultancy are a limited company where the majority of the shares are owned by people within the business and as consequence, they make business decisions that reflect the company's interests, rather than those of external investors. They are also keen to ensure that those people making a contribution to the business are able to take a share in the business and following a re- structuring of the share holding, there are no Directors who have undue influence due to there shareholding. They see this as critical to bringing through key people in their business and allowing them to benefit from shareholding. They pay market-leading salaries and have a fantastic flexible benefits scheme.
