Site Engineer – Groundworks & RC frame. New build scheme starting in central London. Demolition and site clearance currently underway. Engineer needed to provide accurate line and level for all basement excavation, drainage and retaining walls. Then moving upwards to ground floor slab and 2 further floors of RC slabs and associated vertical elements. Afterwards taking the steel frame up for a further 8 floors and supervising the pours on the metal decking.

Company. This is an established contractor who has been operating in the south-east for over 25 years.

Your role. You will be the only Engineer working for the contractor. Whilst there will be an Engineer employed by the main contractor, their role will be a checking one rather than at the “coalface”. Working with the Site Manager you will be expected to provide accurate setting out information to the labour force by way of sketches and tangible details. Consequently clear written and oral communication is essential.

Technical. Ideally qualified to a Tertiary level in Civil Engineering, you must be able to demonstrate that you are familiar with current Engineering practice and can read Construction and Engineering drawings. Additionally you must be able to keep a daily diary and write up ongoing site progress to produce as built and as constructed records for the client.

Eligibility. A current CSCS card is essential, as is a requirement that you are legally entitled to live and work in the UK. You will probably have at least 2 years UK site experience to enable you to carry out this role successfully and safely. Please apply.
