Working in the Traffic and Transportation sector, this is a great opportunity to work with a productive local authority, gaining valuable experience within the UK or building upon an already established career.

The role will be based largely around the development and delivery of various Traffic and Transportation schemes and will include the initial stages of design as well as carrying the projects through from consultation to installation. A comprehensive knowledge of Controlled Parking Zones will be required as will experience of dealing with the public and councillors on the telephone, by e-mail and in writing. General duties will include working with other Traffic and Transportation engineers on schemes in order to prepare designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, programmes and cost estimates for specific jobs and evaluating engineering problems.

As a successful candidate you will ideally have the following requirements:

• Significant back ground/experience in traffic management and road safety

• Good Knowledge of legislative procedures including consultation processes

• able to communicate well

• excellent written skills

• able to work with minimal direction

• AutoCAD experience essential
