Job Description
BBT has been asked to recruit an Associate Quantity Surveyor to lead and further develop the Quantity Surveying function within the business.
They have an established team of 6 surveyors with a mix of public and private sector clients and a current income in excess of half a million pounds. They currently provide MTC and PQS services throughout the U.K and across our network of offices.
The Associate Quantity Surveyor will report to the operational business Director and will be an integral part of the senior business management team. This position will give you the opportunity to lead and grow an established quantity surveying team, to develop new and existing clients, further develop the skills of the team and provide continuous improvement in the knowledge base of the quantity surveying business.
Responsibilities
Strategic direction and leadership of the Quantity Surveying team
Day to day management of the team including client delivery, staff mentoring and development, technical development and financial performance
Development of ongoing business with existing and new clients including preparing bids to secure future business opportunities
Grow the team in line with future business requirements
Deliver projects on time and to budget including the monitoring of cost controls throughout the project lifecycle
Fulfil Project Management duties
Requirements
The key requirements for the position are as follows:
Professionally qualified Quantity Surveyor – MRICS
Management experience and a willingness to combine a managerial and technical role
Consultancy experience within PQS with experience of Pre and Post contract administration
People skills including mentoring and staff development
Strong client orientation and able to communicate and network at all levels within organisations.
Business development capability, including bidding and successfully winning business opportunities.
Previous experience of managing projects costs throughout a project lifecycle.
Knowldge of MTC (Measured Term Contracts), Asset Valuation, and Facilities Management
Competence in IT skills across MS Office
Self motivated and resilient
