Job Description

Contribute to the work of the Development Quality Section by giving planning advice and processing planning applications and related matters in accordance with current legislation, adopted plans, policy and the Council's objectives by contributing to the development of policies procedures and good practice.

You will be responsible to the Planning Manager and with the day to day supervision of a relevant Senior Planner (Development Quality) and where appropriate other professional staff for Interpreting and advising on all aspects of planning legislation and policy, Processing and assessing and monitoring all forms of planning related applications in accordance with current legislation, adopted plans and policy and the Council's objectives and undertaking the appropriate consultation liaison and negotiation, Preparing reports on applications and other planning related matters, Representing the Council at public inquiries or Court proceedings, Contributing to the development of planning related policy, procedures and good practice, Undertaking enforcement actions and Carrying out other planning duties as required by the Head of Partnership and Planning.

A full driving license is essential for this role.
