The Consulting Energy Services division for the MEIEA region (Middle East, India, Europe and Africa), based in Redhill, has grown during the last 5 years and is forecast to double its turnover this year.

Black & Veatch is currently looking for Project Engineers to work in its Redhill offices to provide high quality advisory services to clients throughout the region. Responsibilities will include:

 Undertaking the position of project engineer and/or mechanical/electrical engineer on various projects.
 Liaising with the client on the technical and commercial aspects of projects.
 Advising clients including developers, plant operators and banks. This may also including design, design review and construction supervision.
 Acting as advisor relating to the building of new or the purchase / extension / improvement of existing, power plant. This will involve the evaluation and optimisation of proposals of others or proposing the basic design parameters for new/revised plant.
 Specification preparation, report writing and technical evaluation of bids are also features of the job.

International travel will be necessary from time to time, depending on the location of projects.

Applications are welcomed from Engineers who can demonstrate the following:

 Educated to a minimum level of a B.Sc. Engineering or B.Eng. degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline (or equivalent).
 Working towards or a member of IMechE/IEE.
 Project engineering experience of power related projects including desalination, fuel and ash handling, and water treatment for power plants.
 Computer literacy. The applicant must be competent in the following packages: MS Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); MS Project; AutoCAD or other CAD packages will be an advantage.
 Project Engineers will be expected to negotiate with Clients and their Contractors, therefore excellent negotiation skills and cultural awareness/adaptability will be essential.
