ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER – BUILD. An ideal opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager with the necessary skills to work on DESIGN CO-ORDINATION as well as highlighting their ability to assist in running a City style project in a successful, safe and profitable manner. In return you will be well rewarded with an above average package and bonuses. This project is primarily Residential being a mixture of private and affordable housing, multi-storey to 29 floors, with basement level car parking in stacking systems.

This is a perfect opportunity to join an established and respected contractor who has recently won a string of major projects in the Docklands area. Traditional Reinforced Concrete frame structure with cladding and brickwork packages, taking the project through to fit out and handover, overall project exceeds £25m. The scheme is starting with the demolition and site clearance and the requirement is for an Assistant Project Manager to work with the overall Project Manager and to take on the Build elements.

Preferably degree or professionally qualified you will have a proven track record of working on multi-storey RC frame projects for one of the mainstream contractors or developers, having experience in the constraints imposed with working in the Docklands area. The site is in a Residential area and your skills must include not only the ability to push and develop a build programme but also to maintain good working relationships with the neighbours and residents. Able to comprehensively call off and programme the work you will have sound communication and IT skills.

A background with a Main Contractor, Developer or a D&B Contractor would be ideal. You will be encouraged to develop your skills and will be given autonomy in running the build elements of the project, so long as the primary considerations of Health & Safety on site, commercial profitability and programme are met. The Contractor has a low turnover in their Management and you will be expected to demonstrate a good track record. Only candidates with permission to live and work in the UK will be considered.

As Deputy Project Manager on your current project, if it is a smaller one, you may suit if you can demonstrate drive and ambition, a willingness to learn and improve. Salaries are intended to encourage the better candidates as the Contractor seeks to steadily expand their Management team.
