Job Description

We are currently seeking for a Speech and Language Therapist to work for our client in Scotland.

The post holder will provide a Speech and Language Therapy Service to adults on the autistic spectrum.

Line Manager: General Manager / Head of Therapies
Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: £31200 pro rata

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications/Professional
Professional qualification
Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy
Registered with Health Professions Council
Experience/Skills
Experience in working with adults with communication difficulties relating to learning disabilities generally and specifically those on the autistic spectrum
Experience of interdisciplinary team working
Experience of working with Communication Aids
Personal Abilities/Attributes
Team approach to therapy input
Flexible approach to working practice and environments
Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in terms of liaison and joint working
Good organisational skills
Self Motivation
Ability to identify own personal development needs

SERVICE DEVELOPMENT:

To advise the General Manager / Head of Therapies on strategic and operational requirements within the clinical area.
To contribute to the setting and maintaining of standards of care and clinical audit procedures in consultation with the General Manager / Head of Therapies.
To contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of relevant training programmes, other professionals and carers.
To be involved in Speech and Language Therapy student training programmes as necessary.
To carry out other professional duties as agreed with the General Manager / Head of Therapies.
