A leading international consultancy is looking to appoint a geotechnical engineering expert to it's London office.

You will be expected to possess broad project consulting experience to support your in-depth technical knowledge. This will enable you to operate in small, hand-picked, multi-disciplinary teams providing high-level advice focussed on enabling our clients to deliver successful project outcomes.To be successful in the role you will be independent, authoritative and expert within the geotechnical engineering discipline, playing an important role in maintaining and raising standards of geotechnical engineering excellence. In particular you should have a substantial track record of the management of geotechnical design including earthworks, foundations, retaining walls, basements, tunnels, slope and ground improvement for infrastructure projects. You will also take responsibility for project management of small to medium size assignments and providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff.You will be a proactive character with the ability to take the lead in design and design management situations, you will be a Chartered Engineer (MICE).This role demands a great deal of experience within heavy civil engineering projects. A first degree in civil engineering with an MSc in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering or similar will also be a requirement. The individual will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen commercial awareness and experience of liaising with clients.

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of around £60k plus benefits.
