Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a recently established and highly successful consultancy, providing planning and engineering advice to the development industry. The principal or associate flood risk modeller will join the company at the central London office at a very favourable time in its development. The right individual will join the senior management team, and will have the opportunity to purchase equity in the firm.

The principal or associate flood risk modeller will be charged with helping to realize land values through the preparation of drainage strategies; investigation of flood risk implications at purchase stage for developments; negotiation with planning stakeholders including the Environment Agency; carrying out flood analysis; identification of mitigation strategies and the negotiation of their approval. The successful applicant will take responsibility for developing the existing business, improving technical standards and helping deliver projects to time and budget from feasibility through to detailed design.

The company attracts individuals who are likeable and engaging, conscientious, diligent and ambitious. The successful candidate must have strong commercial acumen combined the intelligence and confidence to argue a point well, and proven business development or client interaction experience. The person will have a good engineering degree, combined with a substantial background in flood risk modelling, including detailed analytical work, site design, and dealing with rejected planning projects. Knowledge of Two-Flow, Civil 3D and HEC RAS software would be desirable but not essential.
