JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POSITION OF FOSTERING SERVICES MANAGER:
This position is currently based on a full-time 37.5 hours per week basis.
Your role will include:
* You will be responsible for monitoring & assessing performance of foster carers with specific regard to their child care practises, training & promotion of the care Ltd.
* Ensure that all aspects of the business comply with all required National Standards and Fostering Regulations by ensuring that knowledge of these is kept up to date and put into practice by all members of the Fostering Team.
* Be effective in the leadership of staff & the Fostering operation on a day to day basis ensuring that the best possible child care is delivered.
* Manage financial budget allocated to Fostering Services Manager for the Foster Carers.
* Promote the Company to outside bodies with regard to Fostering and other services offered by the Company.
* Recruitment of Foster Carers & their Form F assessment.
* Take on the role of ‘Complaints Receiving Officer’ to deal with complaints at the initial informal stage.
* Supporting Foster Carers with both telephone & home visit contact when required.
* Liaise with Local Authorities & other external agencies when required.
* If required attend Independent Panel meetings for both the Care Ltd & Local Authorities.
* When required attend Review/Planning meetings and write up reports for such occasions.
* Keep yourself up to date with each placement via members of team and the monitoring of all records.
* Use the car provided to attend home visits/meetings and any other work related events if required.
* Plan & carry out training sessions for the Foster Carers and Panel Members when required.
* Write/obtain Distance Learning Materials for Foster Carers and provide instructions on completion and assess responses.
* Attend in-house & external training as and when required.
* Transport children/young people in placements to contact & respite care etc if necessary.
* Determine the Care Clients Emergency Duty Rota and take part.
* Provide supervision to the Fostering Team staff on a monthly basis together with day to day guidance in order to provide a professional service to all service users.
* Provide the Registered Person or the Care Director with a monthly report covering all ‘schedule 7’ requests to be delivered at a monthly meeting.
* Produce Company Policies and Procedures as and when required coinciding with the Fostering National Minimum Standards.
* Undertake the recruitment and training of new Fostering Team staff including Social Workers.
* Participate in monthly supervision offered by the Company by an independent person.
* Deal with internal fostering staff complaints/grievances in the appropriate manner.
* Ensure that at least one member the Fostering team is in the office daily covering opening hours 9am – 5pm.
* Annually devise & implement a 12 month training package for Care Ltd Foster Carers.
* Any other duties within reasonable request.
You will ultimately be responsible to the Managing Director. However, in her absence you will be responsible to the Company Secretary.
