Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager based in London, to head up a team of Commercial managers and assistants. Renewing and enhancing the nation's railways is no small challenge. Our client has a multi billion annual spend, and a lot of work to do. With London 2012 and Kings Cross on the horizon, and an enhanced renewals spend, the Rail industry is now busier than ever.

As Senior Commercial Manager you will influence high-profile projects that impact the nation's rail transport system and economy, The focus is to renew and enhance the rail infrastructure to deliver the Company's commitments for the future through increased efficiency and value for money.

Being one of the largest property owners in the country and a substantial landowner, with a unique portfolio of 9,000 managed properties ranges from heritage buildings to modern developments, all properties are revenue producing and this division is to maximise this, setting a target of £600m a year over the next five years.

As Senior Commercial Manager you will be involved in a High profile project that is currently at the initial stages, currently being tendered for with external agencies. This project will be on-going for the next 2-3 years, and afterwards you will engage in other high profile projects.

It is essential that you have experience of working in a partnering environment.
This is also in a management position and you will be responsible for the management of Commercial managers and assistants. It is essential that you have management level experience.
As a Senior Commercial Manager you will deal with both internal and external contracts. This will include:
·Commercial negotiations
·Post contract valuations
·Certification of works
·Valuing of variations
·Project cost forecasting and financial reporting through well established IT systems.
As you will be required to provide advice to the project team on contractual matters you will ideally have considerable experience particularly of design and construction contracts.
It is ideal for you have at previous experience in commercially supporting investment projects. We are looking for you to hold a degree in quantity surveying or a related field and ideally with exposure to heavy asset industries such as rail, utilities, building or construction.
