An exciting opportunity currently exists to work within one of the UK's Beacon status councils. The council covers an amazing range of areas of outstanding natural beauty, as well a vibrant urban centre and many rural areas as well. There are currently several high profile greenbelt areas being developed, lots of very complex regeneration schemes and lots of economic growth happening. They are seeking to recruit a senior policy planner to assist with research, consultation and drafting policies and proposals. You will also be involved in carrying out public consultation and giving advice to other officers and the general public and will therefore need to be a confident public speaker. You will also be involved in evidence based work and will be looking at spatial policy and strategic sites as well as the annual monitoring report. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to deal with a wide range of professionals and individuals and have a proven track record. The role is on a contractual basis and rates of pay are generous (22-25ph).
