Job Description

You will be working for the council in a rural, pleasant area, with has good rail links, and finding appropriate accommodation should not be problematic.

You will be supervising a team of contractors that are constructing two different housing developments, each containing 170 houses. On a day to day basis this will include on site supervision and liaising with contractors. The work itself includes Section 38 work, drainage and earthworks and you will also be dealing with access roads.

The right candidate will ideally have 10 years plus experience in a Clerk of Works role with a strong highways background. It is important that they have also dealt with drainage, earthworks and estate roads whilst being in a COW position. The candidate will have good communication skills as they will be liaising with both developers and contractors, and they will need to motivate the team to carry out their work within given deadlines. IT experience is beneficial and they must have their own transport.
