Job Description
·To take responsibility for delivering a significant civils infrastructure element of a major new development scheme, managing a team, and influencing all aspects of construction delivery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager· Ensuring all project activities comply with relevant legislation (e.g. environmental legislation OH&S)·Ensuring delivery within budget·Leading and managing all aspects of the design, construction and handover of the project·Planning, developing and implementing the project strategy, direction and goals·In conjunction with the Senior Construction Manager and Commercial Manager determine contractor selection·Managing monitoring and reporting on project delivery against safety, time, cost, and quality requirements·Managing Development teams relationships for the project, interpret their requirements and resolve issues·Ensuring the provision of a safe working environment·Ensuring compliance with Westfield Management System and processes·Supervisory responsibilities include planning and delegating work; resource planning; motivating staff; appraising performance; and in consultation with the Senior Construction Manager/ Project Director and HR Manager reward and discipline staff; address complaints and resolve problems·Clearly defining project specific responsibilities & relationships with the project team and in accordance with Westfield role profiles·Maintaining and implementing the Project Assurance Plan (Rail only)·Document management including preparation, tracking and retention·Providing input to risk registers and ensure the closing out of mitigation measures·Managing the process of commissioning, handover and bringing into use·Actively managing the business relationship with contractors ·Undertaking and execution of duties as specified within Contract Terms & Conditions
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications required for the position
·Significant experience of project management on major civils construction works. ·Proven successful track record in delivery of the above.·Management of a civils contractor.·Experienced in the delivery of projects within a rail environment (rail only).·Experienced of high profile projects.·Good understanding of health & safety legislation and conscious of health & safety in the workplace.·IT literate.·Possession of MICE or equivalent preferable but not essential.·BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferable but not essential.·CSCS essential
