Job Description

·To provide project management and engineering support to the team delivering a significant civils infrastructure element of a major new development scheme.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Reporting to the Project Manager· Ensuring project activities comply with relevant legislation (e.g. environmental legislation OH&S)·Assisting in managing all aspects of the design, construction and handover of the project·Processing and closing out queries arising from design and construction activities·Ensuring construction activities are carried out to in accordance with the specification ·Inputting into implementing the project strategy, direction and goals·Monitoring and reporting on project delivery against safety, time, cost, and quality requirements·Contributing to ensuring the provision of a safe working environment·Complying with Management System and processes·Maintaining and implementing the Project Assurance Plan ·Document management including preparation, tracking and retention·Providing input to risk registers and assisting as required in the closing out of mitigation measures·Assisting in managing the process of commissioning, handover and bringing into use·Forming business relationship with contractors ·Undertaking and execution of duties as specified within Contract Terms & Conditions

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications required for the position
·Engineering experience on major civils construction works. ·Supervision of a civils contractor/subcontractor.·Experienced in the delivery of projects within a rail environment (rail only).·Understanding of health & safety legislation and conscious of health & safety in the workplace.·IT literate.·BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferable but not essential.·CSCS preferable
