A Traffic Engineer is currently required to join a lively and well established Traffic and Transportation team within a centrally located London Authority. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to work with, lead, manage and direct Transport Planners and Engineers in the delivery of high quality transport planning services backed up with a competitive salary.

This role will deal largely with supporting the team of engineers in the areas of Traffic management including road safety, cycling and walking schemes. The main responsibilities of this role will entail you to plan, arrange and co-ordinate the design, development, consultation and implementation of transport schemes. A large part of the role will include the successful candidate to assist and deal with council and public correspondence in the form of letters and consultation. You will also be required to prepare consultant briefs, evaluate responses, allocate projects and manage and monitor delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience in transport policy and programme development, travel planning and traffic order making and as well as be a excellent communicator both verbally and orally. Good knowledge of legislative procedures including including the consultation process is also advantageous.
