Quantity Surveyor – Intermediate or above. To work on an interesting mixture of Civils, RC, Build and One-off projects. An established Irish owned contractor with a turnover exceeding £25m, and growing, is currently seeking to engage an additional Quantity Surveyor. According to your experience you will either be a stand alone QS or able to run a team of Quantity Surveyors.

With Projects primarily in London and the Home Counties, within and around the M25 and the south-east, they have a current requirement for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take on new projects that they are winning.

The scope of works typically include all site enabling, preparation and remediation works, preparation of a piling mat, piling, groundbeams, groundworks and drainage, the build generally of RC or traditional construction, then the preparation of large areas for parking and hard standings.

The projects vary from commercial ones to educational and leisure with substantial amounts of RC sub and super structure elements usually included in the overall schemes. Clients range from wealthy private individuals to Local Education authorities to Commercial end users.

Ideally we are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is formally qualified with a tertiary level qualification, though the most important feature is that you are commercially aware. You may also have come through the Construction or Project Management route. You must be fully IT literate, well versed in current Health & Safety legislation, able to programme and monitor a number of projects, whilst keeping a very keen eye on the commercial aspects. The location of these projects and the location of Head office would probably suit applicants with easy access to north-west London; however candidates who are interested in this role but live in alternative locations should also apply for consideration.

You will ideally have formal qualifications, at least 3 to 4 years relevant QS site experience, preferably working for a contractor and good references from previous employers. Salary will not be a limiting factor for the right person. Only people who are legally permitted to live and work in the UK will be considered.
