Highway Design Engineer - London

Job Description

Our client is looking for a highway design engineer to undertake the detailed design of Urban highway schemes within London. Projects will range from minor urban highway improvement schemes for Transport for London (TfL) to new major highway widening schemes.

The role will encompass taking projects from the feasibility stages through to detailed design and in some cases taking these designs to implementation, requiring supervision of the Client's Term Contractor.

Previous project management experience would be desirable as engineers are encouraged ownership of their own schemes.

Role will include the following aspects:
liaison with Client, contractor and third parties; commissioning of surveys; preparation of detailed designs; cost estimates to agreed bills of rate; health and safety plans; safety audit briefs and designers responses; traffic management orders; consultation exercises with stakeholders and residents; temporary traffic management design; supervision of site works; certification of works and accounts; as-built records.
