Job Description

The main purpose of this role is to carry out an inspection programme that ensures businesses comply with their responsibilities under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 Section 34.

The project will involve visiting premises throughout the Borough and issue notices requiring the written descriptions of waste transferred and or/ waste transfer notes. And to follow up with enforcement action for non-compliance by issuing fixed penalty notices and /or prosecution, and to update Council records accordingly.

The successful candidates will need good interpersonal skills in what will be a challenging environment. Needs experience of interviewing suspects and taking statements from witnesses.

This is a one year contract
