Assistant Planner – Build – Main Contractor – Watford, Hertfordshire

One of the largest construction companies in the world is currently looking for an Assistant Planner for their build division based out of their Hertfordshire office.

The build division for this construction company is predicting a turn over of over £300 million for this year, with 80% of all contracts secured being repeat business or negotiated work. Project size range from £5 million - £60 million with projects being based on traditional, design and build, and 2 stage forms of contract. Location of work will be in London and the Home Counties. This company uses Power Project as a planning tool.

As an Assistant Planner your general duties will include:

Establish the initial construction strategy method statements and procedures and produce necessary revisions that are at time-to-time necessary.

Agree the content and logic of the “Construction Programme” and assist in its preparation where practicable.

Ensure the preparation of short term and section programmes and method statements.

Monitor performance against programmes, forecasts, procedures and method statements and take action as necessary.

Be fully conversant with all aspects of the contract documents so as to be able to manage the work and recognise any changes that may arise, and deal appropriately with the revised situation.
