Job Description

Planner, site based in the Docklands area, required to work closely with the Contracts Manager on a new build multi-storey RC frame residential development.

Background. Probably coming from a practical background with a Civil Engineering qualification, you will have practical site experience and may have been a Senior or Project Engineer, Site or Project Manager. You are now able to put those hard years to good use in planning and co-ordinating a substantial new build project.

Role. Working with very positive team members your role will involve planning and sequencing site operations to minimise disruption and to maximise production. Close collaboration with the site based Project Manager will enable you both to anticipate and plan for a multitude of operations so as to ensure minimal downtime.

Training. Formal Civil Engineering qualifications to Degree or Diploma level would help, but the main requirement is for someone with drive and a positive attitude who understands the construction sequences and can plan to accommodate the changes and variations that will inevitably crop up.

Skills. IT skills are essential and the ability to use planning packages would be preferred, however again the requirement is for a practically minded person who is happy working in a site based role.

Package. This role is nominally a £55,000 salary but applicants will be gauged on their ability, so the salary can be modified to suit.

Opportunity. This successful contractor has extensive projects ongoing with further schemes on the drawing board so continuity of work can be expected.
