Job Description

This authority is looking for a policy officer who is likely to be available within the next month for a period of 3-4 months.

The post covers the range of experience from Graduate Trainee to Senior Planner and will be working on various aspects of the Local Development Framework.

They are currently preparing to submit their Core Strategy for Examination. They have a number of evidence studies underway, both in-house and through consultants, that will need direct input or project managing, and more work to do or manage on Sustainability Appraisal. The evidence studies and SA will also feed into the Site Allocations Development Plan Document and a Town Centre Area Action Plan. They decided to revisit the Issues and Options for these two plans which will require liaison with other departments and services at the Council, with service departments at Hampshire County Council and with bodies such as the Highways Agency and the Environment Agency before they go out to the wider public. They also have a couple of developer-led Development Briefs being prepared as Supplementary Planning Documents.
