Job Description
Our client has an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of claims and dispute resolution cases. The individual would be expected to have significant experience on the preparation of both commercial and complex claims, with a Quantity Surveying / commercial background ideally. A working knowledge of the adjudication process is essential and an all round knowledge of construction law.
Duties will comprise but not be limited to:
Preparation of, or defense, of claims for extension of time, loss and expense, disruption and acceleration; Preparation of contract documentation (excluding the drafting of bespoke contract conditions);
The provisions of advice on a variety of matters including procurement routes, contract choice and dispute resolution procedures;
The provision of advice on contractual notices;
The drafting of contractual notices;
The representation of either the referring or responding parties to adjudications;
Activities associated with quantum assessments in litigation or arbitration;
The provision of strategic and commercial advice to clients regarding the management of disputes.
Travel to various clients based throughout the country when necessary.
There is also the potential in the future for the right individual, with the right ability and industry contacts, to progress into a management position where more responsibility will be given to develop and manage a claims team of their own.
Candidates should have a relevant Construction Degree, MSc Construction Law / LLB or MCIARB - and be;
Computer literate.
Quantity Surveying.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Attention to detail.
