Active Assistance provides the very best live in care for adults and children with high level physical disabilities, specialising in spinal cord injury and we are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our team of Personal Care Assistants (PA).

As a PA you will work with our clients on a live-in basis for between 1 and 3 weeks at a time. Whilst you are working the client provides food and accommodation and we pay for your travel costs to and from each assignment. You will be providing practical support to enable our clients to live an active life – this will include general domestic tasks, personal care and driving. Previous experience of working with disabled adults and/or children is a definite advantage, however, we provide a comprehensive 5 day training course to prepare our PAs for working with our clients. The training course is free and during the training we also provide free accommodation.

Our client is a 47 year old physically disabled male whose interests include TV, travelling, cinema and theatre. He has a small team of PAs working in eight hour shifts to support him. This client is currently looking for a male carer to be part of his care team so if you are a non-smoker and want to work as part of a team providing the best possible live in care this could be the ideal client for you. To qualify to work with Active Assistance as a PA you must :-
•Be over 21 years of age *
•Hold a Driving Licence valid for driving in the UK
•Be eligible to work in the UK either through your nationality or by holding a valid UK Work Permit/Visa
•Have excellent English language skills
•Ideally, be a non-smoker

* This position is exempt from the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 as per section 8(2).

When working as a PA with Active Assistance you will receive:-
• Free 5 day, award winning*, specialist training to nationally recognised standards
