Job Description

Our client is a renowned Engineering Consultancy, currently seeking a Civil Engineer with relevant experience in river, coastal and maritime projects to join their team in South West England to undertake a variety of projects for major clients such as the Environment Agency and the MoD.

The successfully recruited engineer with contribute to the following types of projects:
" Hydrology, hydraulic assessment and modelling
" Flood Risk Management (Flood Risk Assessments, Flood studies and Appraisals, design of River Engineering and Flood Defence Schemes)
" Maritime Engineering (Marina developments/ improvements; jetties; breakwaters etc)
" General Civil Engineering (site investigation; RC structures; earthworks; piling; drainage, etc)

You will play a key role in project teams and be responsible for undertaking engineering and project related tasks on investigations, studies and design projects under the supervision of the Project Manager. Day to day responsibilities may include:
" Data collection and assessment; problem solving.
" Technical analysis and calculations
" Preparation of design drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
" Liaison with client and contractor representatives.
" Site visits and supervision
" Management of other team members/sub-contractors on specific tasks
" Providing assistance to the Project Manager and/or CDM Coordinator
" Be accountable for meeting own targets/deadlines and ensuring quality of own work.

To be considered as a suitable applicant, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering and a strong technical base, and preferably be working towards a professional qualification, such as MICE or MCIWEM.
