Skills / Experience Required
Experience should ideally include working within a professional practice or consultancy environment and the candidate will be MRICS/FRICS qualified. In order for the person to be successful in this role they will need to possess the following personal attributes:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong client facing skills
Have Education/ Local Government experience
Experience of managing people and delivering complex projects
A clear thinking person demonstrating attention to detail, who is well organised and can operate independently under a broad direction
The ability to advise and guide colleagues in a supportive, interactive fashion ensuring that programmes are agreed, targets set and deadlines achieved
An in depth knowledge of different construction processes
A forward-thinking approach to the management of clients and projects

Our client have a requirement for Senior Quantity Surveyor in their Central London Team to work within the Education/ Local Government team. The candidate will have a track record in cost management, showing a progressive career path
These are predominantly Client-facing roles so require candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills. However, there are also opportunities for candidates who prefer to work more within teams to provide a guiding hand to less experienced team members. Whilst these roles are structured according to sectors, the post holders will have the chance to progress their careers not just vertically, but across a number ofsectors. There is the opportunity to work as part of closely-knit teams or to lead teams. A mixture of both office and site-based roles are available. The successful candidate will have a desire to develop their career within a leading Practice
The client has small highly focussed teams of between 8 - 10 staff in client facing teams.
Responsibilities
Work within a high performance team delivering high quality services through hands-on involvement
Ensuring high quality and consistent service delivery standards on projects
Managing the delivery of work through hands-on involvement where appropriate and through management of staff within the team
Direct client liaison and reporting on projects
Innovation and utilisation of bespoke solutions to meet clients’ needs
Developing their business: Networking and developing client relationships and alliances
Strengthen our service delivery capability and championing innovative developments to add value to their clients
