Job Description

Junior Engineer for Rebar call-offs. Additional requirement for a project in the Docklands. To work on a new commercial development. The Contractor is currently employing Engineers on ground preparation, earthworks, drainage and general infrastructure initially and needs an additional Junior Engineer to work on calling off rebar for the permanent works that are just starting.

The work will involve some of the above operations but will focus initially on calling off for the pilecaps, groundbeams, stanchion bases, HD bolts and floor slabs, so including all horizontal and vertical RC elements.

We need a Junior Engineer / Graduate who is conversant with reinforcement drawings, bending schedules and the methods of calling off rebar. The position will suit a recent Graduate who has had some site experience or may be a means of allowing an Engineer who has site experience and wants to stop setting out, to take a site office based position.

Qualifications in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering would be ideal, but overall a desire to learn and a willingness to work hard are the main requirements so long as you have good written and oral communication. This project operates a 5.5 day working week, though you may only be required to work a 5 day week.

Ongoing training will be available from the Project Manager, but you must have a good understanding of how steel is incorporated into a reinforced concrete structure and a good grasp of steel / rebar drawings.

This is potentially a very long run of work as the site opens up. All applicants must have a current CSCS card and be legally entitled to live and work in the UK. Only applicants who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
