Senior Highway Design Engineer (Site based)

Job Description

We're working with a prestigious engineering firm (and a Times Top 100 employer), working on one of the most high profile projects in Europe, based in East London. They're looking to appoint a site based Senior Highways Engineer.

The Senior Highways Engineer will:

- Take responsibility for a team of two engineers and CAD support in providing technical design support services for the project;
- Prepare and assess design changes;
- Review contractors' design submissions and method statements;
- Review and prepare as-built drawings and maintenance manuals;
- Participate in workshops and periodic design/construction meetings.

The successful candidate will be:
- A degree qualified Chartered Engineer
- Experienced in leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects
- Experienced on site on the construction of major infrastructure projects
- Able to design and deliver highways engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects;
- Thoroughly knowledgeable of UK highway design and design standards
- Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
- Able to quickly develop successful client relationships
- Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- An excellent communicator
