This role is to work as part of an engineering team, taking a senior role in project work, focused on production and client liaison and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team. Much of our project work involves innovative low energy and sustainability solutions which puts us ahead of our competitors.

Many of our engineers have been encouraged and taught to use the current computational modelling tools to assist them with their designs. We believe that to ensure we stay at the front of our competitors and to remain the first choice every encouragement and support should be given to engineers who have the desire and attitude to succeed.

The Senior Engineer will manage their own projects, undertake detailed design to the required standards and take into full consideration CDM and QA standards and the programme deadlines.

The successful candidate will also be involved assisting the team leader in resourcing projects, to achieve the required standard and deadlines. They will liaise with design teams to develop the construction working details, attending detail design meetings as necessary and liaison with Trade Contractors.

Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team will form a core objective. Business development is not a major aspect of the role, but the candidate should be perceptive to opportunities for new business and provide feedback to senior members of staff. Key at this level is delivery of high quality output to agreed deadlines.

The applicant should ideally have obtained or be close to obtaining Chartered Engineer status, however applicants with proven design experience in the M&E industry will be considered. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to work within a team completing detailed design engineering, calculations, site supervision and liaison of work for a variety of projects. Design experience must adhere to British Standards and Codes.

In taking a leading role in projects the candidate should have experience of attending client meetings and other design team members; liaising and co-ordinating with the design team; directing and monitoring support engineers and CAD staff; planning work and quality control.
BEng or MEng degree in relevant engineering discipline as a minimum standard. Chartered or approaching chartered level with the Institute of IMechE.
