The Hotel is a privately owned Hotel situated in an unrivalled, secluded and quiet position on Sark’s west coast with breathtaking views of the sea and the neighbouring islands of Herm, Jethou and Guernsey.
Established in 1948, the hotel offers 22 tastefully furnished bedrooms, three sun lounges, a lounge library, television room and a small, well-stocked bar. We are proud to boast that the hotel was named 'Island Hotel of the Year' for 2007 by the Good Hotel Guide and secondly that our 50 seater elegant restaurant holds an AA Rosette, and is well reputed for its excellent food and comprehensive wine list.
We currently have a vacancy for a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie. The ideal candidate should have basic cooking skills and should be comfortable on all sections, with a solid kitchen background.
Working in a young team of 4 you will be required to assist in producing fresh, quality modern cuisine. Wherever possible we strive to offer local seasonal produce and local specialties, including local lobster and crab dishes.
This truly is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to work on a small island - no cars - enjoy beautiful scenery, lovely beaches and outdoor leisure activities such as swimming and cycling.
