Job Description

Planning enforcement officers; members for the planning and supporting of staff teams. You will be working with planners to provide a range of technical and administrative support.

Typical activities include: Dealing with breaches of planning, providing reports, ensuring that any development has permission and that planning requirements are adhered to; conducting site visits; using a good, knowledge of planning legislation to provide clear guidance to people such as homeowners and builders;

where planning permission has been breached, negotiating a solution; where a solution cannot be negotiated or if a breach continues,

investigating, gathering evidence and presenting it to the planning committee, which can include councillors and magistrates.

Must have or be working towards a qualification, at N/SVQ Level 3, Town Planning Support or an HNC/HND in Planning.
