Job Description

A site-based Quantity Surveyor is required by my client to manage the financial & contractual administration of a major project. The role is with the Decent Homes Project and managing the refurbishment of kitchens & bathrooms. The successful candidate will require previous experience in a similar refurbishment role.
This role will involve:
- analyses and assessment of sub-contract quotations
- liaising with production and design teams to ensure completeness of the design package.
- negotiating sub-contract packages (in conjunction with the Construction Manager)
- drafting and letting sub-contracts as authorised by the Construction Manager and approved by the Chief Surveyor
- preparing and negotiating interim valuations and final accounts including all necessary measurement
- updating a Variation Account on a monthly basis.
-preparation of monthly cost/value reconciliation and/or cost to complete analysis
- providing advice to Site/Management staff on contractual, valuation and measurement matters.
The successful candidate will also need to monitor Preliminaries/Site Management costs and advise on action to be taken to remedy over-expenditure.
*Key Experience / Skills Required: A previous role in a similar position would be desirable.
