Job Description

We have an opening for an enthusiastic and goal orientated person to work on an environmental project of Global importance, the Aral Sea Programme. This post would require split inputs for up to 11 months over a two year period (approx 7 months in 2005, and 4 months in 2006) working within a project team based out of our office in Kzylorda and the site office along the North Aral Sea in Kazakhstan.

This position would require a person with BSc/MSc in an environmental or natural/water resources field with experience working in CIS countries and ideally with some knowledge of construction supervision and Russian.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to their work with little supervision. As our project office is small the individual should be multi-disciplined, have good interpersonal skills. Experience in project management, consultation and client liaison are also desirable.

This individual will be required to supervise a variety of field surveys in remote areas using an interpreter. Good report writting skills would be an asset as well as some experience in GIS and CAD.
