Job Description

Quantity Surveyor with Civils orientation. This Contractor is currently seeking an additional Quantity Surveyor of intermediate to senior level to fill a new position within the contractor’s company management structure. The requirement has come about through our client securing additional projects and the MD relinquishing his QS role to concentrate on growing the company.

The Sites are a mixture of Greenfield and brownfield ones and site presence commences at demolition and site clearance. The recent projects have included partial façade retention; a new double basement to incorporate car parking facilities, with commercial outlets at ground floor level; warehouse and associated yardage and external hard and soft landscaping.

The Scope of Works for RC and Steel frame structures includes access routes, site services, infrastructure, enabling works, landscaping packages, brick and blockwork, cladding for the externals; whilst generally the internal packages are allocated to others.

Working for established main contractors in the Education, Health and Leisure sectors this Contractor has good working relationships and a continuity of work. The sites are generally in London north of the Thames and are also in Oxon, Herts and Beds.

Ideally with a formal Quantity Surveying qualification you will have a proven track record of working on similar projects for a contractor or main contractor, being commercially aware with the necessary skills to plan ahead and ensure a smooth supply schedule for the duration. Experience in the Commercial side will mean that as long as you have a sound business brain a qualification may not be essential.

Future work. It is anticipated that the company will be increasing their work and those people joining at this stage will find that they are joining an established company with many years experience of working in the London and south-east environment.
