1 KNOWLEDGE
1.1 Detailed knowledge of issues relating to Planning and the local authority generally.
1.2 Knowledge and awareness of the equal opportunities issues involved when working within a multi-racial community.
1.3 Knowledge, familiarity and use of communication and consultation techniques
1.4 Up to date knowledge of planning project, planning development and planning implementation issues including planning brief preparation, masterplan work and major pre-application discussions with developers
2 APTITUDE
2.1 Understanding of the role and need for service planning and performance management in the provision of services
3 SKILLS
3.1 Excellent organisational and project management skills
3.2 Able to respond effectively, to tight deadlines, within a pressurised environment
4 EXPERIENCE
4.1 Specific planning project management experience.
4.2 Experience of pre-application discussions on major development proposals including some experience of s106 negotations
4.3 Experience of preparing briefs for consultant commissions for masterplans, planning briefs, project delivery and other planning documents
4.4 Some experience of investigating and bidding for planning related project funding
4.5 Experience of corporate project working, taking day-to-day responsibility for the operation and delivery of a planning project across a number of service areas
5 EDUCATION
5.1 Eligible for chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and/or other relevant professional qualification
