In this highly-involved role you’ll ensure the delivery of design solutions from conception through to realisation – taking the lead in bridge inspections, scheme design, feasibility studies, contract preparation and site supervision. You’ll also be involved in planning site inspections, report writing and dealing with client queries, as well as undertaking assessment, preliminary and detailed design work and delivering innovative engineering design solutions. You will also assist colleagues in project and financial management of schemes

Interested candidates will have at least an HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and will have or be close to achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. With significant technical and design experience, you’ll bring a proven track record in conducting highway bridge inspections and assessments. You’ll have prepared and managed contracts before, using various forms of Conditions of Contract and will be familiar with technical standards, in particular DMRB. In addition, you’ll have a sound structural understanding and knowledge of structural analysis programs such as SCALE, SAM, LUSAS and SuperSTRESS. An effective communicator, you’ll also impress with your IT and presentation skills
